Rhymes With Delightful

I

don’t know who exactly is reading this, but I already know what you’re thinking.
Rhymes with delightful…

…nothing rhymes with delightful. thats so dumb.

And I wish I could tell you that I, in fact, have a great story that explains how the name of my blog came to be . . . but I really don’t. The truth is that I spent more time than I’d like to admit, just writing a bunch of words and things that I like on a yellow pad of paper. After making endless combinations of words and finding out that most of the ones that I liked were already taken, I put rhymeswithdelightful together.
But you say, “Carissa, nothing rhymes with delightful”
And the thing is that I think I kind of like that. It doesn’t make sense. It’s kind of silly and it’s kind of stupid.
But it felt like it fit well.

In terms of what this blog will consist of, I’m honestly not sure. What I can say is that I think that it’ll be a nice mix of everything. There will probably be a lot of DIY and decoration ideas, occasional nail art stuff, and maybe a reflective post every once in a while. I don’t know! We’ll see where this goes. Here, however, is what you won’t find on this blog:

  • Angry, passive aggressive, and semi-ambiguous fifteen page long rants about people that i’m too afraid to confront (that’s never cool)
  • Baking Posts/Recipes: …unless you’re into cookies that look like death and cupcakes that taste like sadness.
  • Music Covers: I can’t sing. If i did, you’d cry. and not in the good way…

If you’ve made it all the way to the end of this post, I’d just like to say thanks for reading this far! I’m really excited to see where this goes and I hope that you’ll stop by often in the future.

-Carissa

note: my roommate has made me aware of the fact that there are words that rhyme with delightful. like spiteful and frightful. I mean, that realization only kind of took all the magic away from my blog’s name and I only cried for seven straight hours. but, it’s all good!
(jk guys, i still love it)

Thanks so much Nanci! In return, I can say that I love to write because I was encouraged and challenged by the most wonderful tutor!
