[a very late] May Birchbox

H

aving two addresses can be a little confusing and when it comes to shipping, things often get sent to the wrong place. Despite changing my shipping address, I had to wait a little bit longer to see what was inside my May Birchbox because it was sent to school first. So i apologize for such a late post! Overall, I wouldn’t say that this was the most exciting box that I’ve received so far, but I thought that a lot of the products were really, really nice!

COOLA Classic Face SPF 30 Cucumber Moisturizer for Face
Sunscreen is probably the second strongest thing that my mother believes in after Jesus. She’s always reminding me to protect my face from the sun, but I don’t always listen because I’m not the biggest fan of sunscreen. Quite often, it feels sticky and heavy and can just be unappealing to wear when it’s hot out. However, I was astonished by just how light this sunscreen was. It honestly felt like I didn’t put anything on and the best part was that it smelled exactly like a cucumber. If you’re looking for new sunscreen, I’d definitely give this one a try. [full size $32]

Marvis Classic Mint Toothpaste
I’m a little weird in that I really enjoy brushing my teeth. Because of that, I was looking forward to trying out this new toothpaste. Overall, I thought it had a strong minty flavor and liked that it left my teeth feeling exceptionally clean. However, I probably won’t be purchasing this product only because I think Colgate is doing the job for me and would prefer to spend my money on a different product. [full size $6-10.50]

Runa Guayusa Tea
My lifestyle extra for May was four tea bags from Runa made from Amazonian Guayusa leaves. There were four different flavors and the cool is thing is that each bag contains the same amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee. I haven’t tried any of them because the weather has just been so warm, but I look forward to having a cup in the future. [full size $7]

amika Obliphica Nourishing Mask
Upstate NY water stinks. It doesn’t taste very good, it smells a little off, and it is horrible for your hair. By the end of this semester, my hair was really dry and damaged so I was happy to see a nourishing mask because my hair needed it. I loved the way this product smelled and felt that it left my hair deeply conditioned and in a much better state than it was before. I would definitely consider buying the smaller tube to use from time to time during the school year. [full size. $12-40]

Sumita Color Contrast Eyeliner
I love eyeliner. When it’s not overdone, I think it does a lovely job of defining the eye. This particular product comes in various colors like plum, navy blue, charcoal, and brown. My sample came in black. I really loved this product because it went on smoothly and had a really intense color. It stayed on my waterline for the entire night and was able to be removed relatively easily as well. This was probably one of my favorite products that I’ve received and I’m looking to purchase it, once it’s back in stock! [full size $11]

The product that I am most inclined to buy: Sumita Color Contrast Eyeliner
The product that I am least inclined to buy: Runa Guayusa Tea
